Re: What's your favourite type of pub?
In Maldon we have recently had two micro pubs open up, one is owned by Farmers Ales and the other is Mighty Oak brewery. I like both but the mighty Oak (Tap Room) sells cheese boards too which sways me towards that one.

Country Pub, plenty of real ale, dart board, decent juke box, dog friendly, no fucking kids, West Ham on the moody channels.

Re: What's your favourite type of pub?
I'll take a pub that has no music, no giant screens, no fruit machines and no dealers.

Do you still get strippers in ordinary pubs (as opposed to places like Browns). Remember going to the Merry Fiddlers as a teenager for such entertainment as part of my education.

Re: What's your favourite type of pub?
Always preferred drinking in pubs in London rather than local boozers. Always had a better feel about them for me, probably becasue they are more neutral. Just the journey home is a cunt.

Re: What's your favourite type of pub?
Any 'pub' where you get your change on a little dish with a receipt can fuck off.

Ironic pubs full of Dalston shitcunts can fuck off too.

Best in class are old country pubs with low beams, roaring fire, local ale and home-made scotch eggs. .

Re: What's your favourite type of pub?
One where people won't look at you like a cunt if you actually dare to get drunk in there.

Lots of pubs round my way have started to get more 'family oriented' and are more like restaurants with a bar. No music, very quiet, 15 quid for a plate of food and you feel like you'd just get tutted at for standing, talking too loudly or woe betide, being a bit drunk and lairy. I simply don't enjoy going in those places.

There seem to be less and less traditional pubs around these days.

Re: What's your favourite type of pub?
Depends what mood I'm in (obviously)..... love a traditional country pub with no TV and a roaring fire and great real ale on tap.

Equally love a packed city pub...as a student I used to love the White Harte in Park Row, Bristol... was usually absolutely rocking by the end of the night.... Bristol is / was blessed with some great pubs.

public bar for people after work, loud jukebox, pool, darts, dogs. No kids, no menu, only bar snacks.

The last pub in South Woodford that matched that profile has now turned into a poncey bar like all the other 5 within a 200 metre radius. Sad times for me.

Please do! Mind you it was a bit of an old man's pub back in 1985 when it served Worthington's White Shield.

That's proper funny. Have you tried stand up?

I don't mean comedy, I meant have you tested out your knees to see if they can take your weight?
